Dallas County reports 247 brand-new coronavirus cases, 1 death – The Dallas Morning News

Dallas County reported 247 more coronavirus cases and one death Sunday.

Of the brand-new cases, 125 originated from the state health department’s reporting system: three from July, 32 from August and 90 from September. The rest were reported straight to the county health department,

The newly reported cases bring the county’s total to 73,700, or about 28 out of every 1,000 county locals.

The latest victim was an Irving guy in his 70s who had been critically ill in an area hospital. He had underlying health conditions, authorities stated.

The confirmed COVID-19 death toll for the county now stands at 945.

The county also has reported 3,158 probable coronavirus cases, including 10 probable COVID-19 deaths.

Officials reported that from Aug. 15-28, 317 school-age kids tested positive for COVID-19 in Dallas County, and about 43% were high school-age. Officials approximated that about 53% of the total variety of school-age kids are registered in Dallas ISD schools, based on their POSTAL CODE.

New data for COVID-19 hospitalizations, extensive care unit admissions and emergency room visits weren’t offered Sunday. Officials stated brand-new data would be offered Tuesday.

Tarrant County Tarrant County offered no brand-new info about coronavirus cases Sunday. Due to the fact that of the Labor Day holiday, its next update will be Tuesday, the county stated in a note on its coronavirus dashboard.

Since Saturday, the county reported an overall of 42,798 coronavirus cases– 2,576 of which were considered “probable.” Its death toll stood at 576.

Collin County

Collin County reported 57 brand-new cases and one death Sunday, bringing the county’s total to 11,481 cases and 118 deaths.

The county is still cautioning locals that it is not confident in the data the state is offering.

Denton County

Since 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Denton County had not released brand-new coronavirus case counts.

On Saturday, the county reported an overall of 10,588 cases and 8,752 recoveries. Its death toll stood at 101, according to Denton County Public Health.

Other counties

The Texas Department of State Health Services has taken control of reporting for lots of North Texas counties, and some might not report updates each day. The latest numbers are:

Rockwall County: 1,411 cases, 22 deaths

Kaufman County: 2,845 cases, 42 deaths

Ellis County: 3,888 cases, 60 deaths

Johnson County: 2,587 cases, 46 deaths
